# Read an AI answer without overreading it **Version:** bw-content-2026-09-24-v1 | **Claim ID:** BW-RESOURCE-01 | **Prepared:** 2026-09-24 **Decision:** Decide what one answer supports before recommending work. Original Broadcastwell proposed operating method. Synthetic examples illustrate the method; they are not observed client outcomes. ## A screenshot is a starting point An answer is evidence of what appeared in that observation. Its usefulness depends on whether another reviewer can understand the question, inspect the permitted receipt and reproduce the classification. Before turning a screenshot into a business conclusion, name the buyer decision it was meant to investigate. A question about a small laboratory buying formulation software is different from a broad enterprise shortlist. ## Keep four things apart Record the answer text, the companies named, the returned source links and your interpretation in separate fields. A mention can be a passing reference or a warning rather than a recommendation. A linked source can contain a claim the answer misreads. Read the relevant source before treating it as factual support. A missing link does not reveal everything the system used. ## A worked example In the synthetic receipt DEMO-RECEIPT-001, the fictional response says: “Northstar Lab has a connector-based export; verify edition requirements.” That supports a present mention in this completed, reviewed fixture. It does not support “Northstar is the preferred vendor.” The independent fictional product sheet says the connector is third-party and requires Team edition. Comparing that sheet with a draft that says “native on every plan” reveals a concrete wording conflict. ## Keep the denominator honest The sample Audit has six planned fixture slots: three completed, one failed, one untested and one uncertain. Only two completed records have a reviewed mention classification: one present and one absent. The third completed record awaits review. Do not write “absent in five of six.” Repeated runs may share a question, source context or system behavior; their count is not a count of independent buyers. ## Identify the surface you used Keep engine, interface, provider, locale, timestamp and method version. If the interface is a local fixture, say so. If it is a provider API, name that interface; do not label it as a consumer-app test. Variability across systems is a reason to retain the receipt, not to choose only the most favorable answer. ## Make a decision The example supports reviewing the integration copy against the approved product facts. It does not show why any real engine included or omitted a company, or whether revenue changed. Complete the worksheet for one receipt. If the source or review is missing, leave the finding open. Then use the receipt demonstration to check your classification. ## Use the worksheet [Editable worksheet](https://docs.broadcastwell.com/resources/worksheets/read-an-answer/) · [Blank JSON](https://docs.broadcastwell.com/assets/learning/worksheets/read-an-answer.json) · [Worked example](https://docs.broadcastwell.com/resources/demos/receipt/) Complete one receipt worksheet, then compare your interpretation with the guided receipt demonstration. ## Provenance This original method extends the supplied September 24 execution-pack draft and blueprint; no competitor writing or outcome is reused.
