Can an AI assistant find a software pricing page?
Yes, in this tested set the assistant found pricing pages for all 70 vendors, but finding was only one part of the task. On 6 October 2026, Agent Gap recorded 67 correct pricing-task results and 52 reached endpoints from those 70 initial sessions. Two results were incorrect and one remained unscored.
What we measured
Measured. The pricing-page task in the Agent Gap protocol used the ChatGPT Work browser interface on 70 selected software vendors. It recorded discovery, correctness and reaching the destination separately. The pricing task's 70-session base excludes the study's other task types and its 30 separate repeat sessions.
A found pricing page was therefore not automatically a correct price account or a completed path. The published record retains the unscored result as unknown; it is not added to either the 67 correct or two incorrect results.
These are observations from 6 October 2026. They do not establish today's prices, a universal page-finding rate or the ability to complete a purchase.
Our answer-study method, v1.1.
What this means for you
Reasoned. Ask what the page actually publishes. A numerical amount, a starting amount and a request for a quote answer different questions. Retain the currency, billing basis and any qualification with the amount rather than allowing the assistant to supply them from habit.
The destination matters too. An assistant may identify a pricing page correctly while failing the study's reached condition. Keep that result visible instead of choosing whichever field gives the largest success count.
- If you own the page: label the public price or quote-only status clearly and provide a direct route to the relevant page.
- If you compare products: open the source and record the date. A dated browsing result cannot settle a current commercial term.
- If you review the assistant: check found, correctness and endpoint separately, including the unscored outcome.
No new account, payment or form submission is needed to understand this evidence boundary. A claim that an assistant located public pricing should end at the recorded public information unless a later event has its own evidence.
