How should an agency report AI visibility for multiple clients?

Report each client's question population and valid base before presenting any portfolio total. Dentrix was named in 120 of 149 dental answers, while Housecall Pro was named in 108 of 150 field service answers captured on 22 September 2026. These public vendor records show why a blended agency percentage can conceal different categories and denominators; they are not client engagements.

What we measured

Measured. The September Index method used ten fixed buyer questions per category, three times on ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Dentrix's naming rate was 80.5 percent, with a Wilson 95 percent interval of 73.4 to 86.1 percent. Housecall Pro's was 72.0 percent, with an interval of 64.3 to 78.6 percent. Dental retained 149 valid answers after one exclusion; field service retained 150. These are separate category observations, not a test of agency reporting software or client performance.

What this means for you

Reasoned. Give each client an identifiable reporting boundary: category, question-bank version, engine set, dates and event definitions. Keep its observations in that boundary when you calculate a rate. A client added midway through the period should not silently change the comparison population for everyone else.

If you need a portfolio overview, state what it aggregates. A count of completed reports describes delivery activity. A pooled naming rate describes the combined answer population and gives more weight to clients with more valid observations. An average of client rates gives each client equal weight but loses the underlying counts unless you show them. Choose the view for a stated question and retain the client-level table.

Use a separate action list for client corrections. It should show the supported fact, assigned owner and delivery state. That prevents a portfolio dashboard from confusing an observed change in answers with work your agency has completed. This page addresses client separation and aggregation; the contents of one client's report are a different design decision.

  • For an agency lead: show client-level counts before a portfolio headline.
  • For an account owner: mark changes in category, questions or engine coverage when comparing periods.
  • For a client: ask which observations belong to your business and which belong to the agency's broader portfolio.
