How can I check a tool's historical AI visibility data?
Open the dated records behind the chart and compare their questions, engines, definitions and valid bases. HubSpot CRM was named in 77 of 117 answers in the August release, published 28 August 2026, and 113 of 150 answers captured 22 September 2026. Those collections used different engine sets, so the two counts do not establish a matched improvement.
What we measured
Measured. The August Index method record used ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with ten questions and three runs per question. HubSpot's naming rate was 65.8 percent, with a Wilson 95 percent interval of 56.8 to 73.8 percent. Its 117-answer base excluded three scheduled observations.
The September Index method also included Google AI Mode. HubSpot's 113 of 150 gives 75.3 percent, with an interval of 67.9 to 81.5 percent. The September answers were captured 22 September and released 23 September 2026.
The August aggregate does not supply an answer-capture timestamp. Its directory-source capture date and release date must not be relabelled as that timestamp. The August erratum also says answer text was not retained, which limits later contextual rescoring.
This is a changed-collection example, not a controlled result showing that HubSpot gained visibility.

What this means for you
Reasoned. Ask the tool to export one earlier period and one later period with their definitions. Check whether a historical point represents an answer collected then, a later calculation from saved answers or a value reconstructed after a method change. Those are different records.
Keep the original file when a definition changes. A new formula may be useful, but it should not silently overwrite what the earlier report meant. A missing timestamp or unavailable answer should remain a visible limit, as it does in this August example.
- If you buy monitoring: ask which historical records you can retain and inspect after access ends. Do not assume that a chart implies a complete answer archive.
- If you prepare a report: record additions to the engine set and changes to exclusions beside the time series.
- If you sell software: check that a claimed gain uses the same buyer questions. A wider collection may describe more of the market without demonstrating improvement on the original test.
An old point is useful when you can explain what it represents. Where records cannot be matched, show separate dated series and leave the size of any underlying change unresolved.
