How accurate are GEO tools across different industries?

There is no universal cross-industry tool-accuracy score in our published evidence. Wrong About You classified 113 wrong and 5 stale statements among 2,922 statements about 70 software vendors, from answers captured on 22 and 23 September 2026. That is an assessment of what the engines said, not a benchmark showing how accurately a monitoring tool extracts or reports their answers.

What we measured

Measured. The Wrong About You classification method compared captured statements with vendors' public pages read on 8 October 2026. It labelled 1,924 statements true, 113 wrong, 5 stale and 880 unverifiable. The checkable base was 2,042; the 118 wrong-or-stale statements belong against that base when reporting that particular rate. Team review remains in progress.

A tracker could reproduce an engine's incorrect statement perfectly. Its extraction would then agree with the captured answer while the product fact remained wrong. Conversely, a correct product fact says nothing about whether a tracker retained the answer, matched the company or calculated its denominator correctly.

For example, dental practice software had 17 wrong-or-stale statements among 162 checkable statements; legal practice software had 34 among 183. Those are category-level statement classifications, not scores for the accuracy of a monitoring tool.

These records do not establish a supplier winner or a tool-accuracy percentage for any industry.

Our answer-study method, v1.1.

What this means for you

Reasoned. Ask which meaning of accuracy a supplier is promising. For extraction, compare the stored result with the complete answer and its date. For company matching, inspect aliases and ambiguous names. For a reported rate, recompute the event from the retained observations and valid base. For product facts, check the dated primary passage.

Keep category scope visible too. Dental practice billing and transport procurement involve different products and claims. A result checked in one category should not acquire a wider industry label merely because the dashboard covers several sectors.

  • If you buy a tool: request a sample showing the answer, extracted field and calculation. A marketing accuracy claim needs a declared task and base.
  • If you sell software: distinguish an incorrect answer from an incorrect extraction of that answer. They require different corrections.
  • If you report results: retain unverifiable as its own state. Converting all 880 unknown statements into errors, or silently treating them as correct, changes the finding.

Write the test you can actually inspect. If the supplier cannot provide the reference answer or explain the event, leave that accuracy claim unverified instead of borrowing our 118 statement labels to support it.

Use Free 10-question check (one engine) to examine a small answer result and ask exactly which event is being counted. No email is needed; runs are limited per network and per day, and by the site's daily allowance.

If the retained answer identifies a product statement that needs a supported page correction, Fix one answer, $490. Keep the statement and the dated primary passage together.
