What can a cited domain tell me about an AI source?
A cited domain tells you where a linked source is hosted; the domain alone does not identify the author, supporting passage or reliability of the claim. In our September 2026 release, medium.com appeared in 6 of 150 valid project-management answers captured on 22 and 23 September. That host count says nothing by itself about which Medium writer supplied a useful source.
What we measured
Measured. The Absence Index counts the exact host once per valid answer when it appears in that answer's cited URLs. Multiple links to that host in one answer still contribute one answer to the host total. This is an answer count, rather than a count of articles, links, quotations or readers.
The category bases remain separate: medium.com appeared in 6 of 150 project-management answers, 3 of 150 CRM answers and 1 of 149 hotel-property-management answers. The latter two categories were captured on 22 September 2026; project management spans 22 and 23 September. All eleven other categories recorded zero answers containing that exact host in this release.
The September release, published 23 September, supplies the category-level source-domain counts. Reasoned. A host shared by many authors is a starting point for inspection. These observations do not measure Medium's overall citation frequency, endorse any publisher or establish that placing an article there will cause future citations.
Every figure comes from the published method, v1.1.
What this means for you
Follow the full URL before attributing an answer to a source. Record the page title, author where stated, publication or update date, and the passage relevant to the answer's claim. A familiar hostname cannot supply those missing details.
Keep the question and category beside your host count. Six project-management answers and three CRM answers have different contexts even when they share a domain.
If a cited page cannot be read, mark its support as unverified. A visible link proves that the captured answer contained the link; it does not settle whether the destination actually supports the sentence.

With Free 10-question check (one engine), inspect the actual destination of a source link before drawing a conclusion from its hostname. No email is needed; runs are limited per network and per day, and by the site's daily allowance.
If the linked page carries an incorrect fact used in an answer, Fix one answer, $490 starts from that particular claim and source rather than a publisher-wide score.
