What does unverifiable mean in an AI product answer?
“Unverifiable” means the vendor pages checked for the study did not settle the statement. It is neither a falsehood label nor an approval. Wrong About You classed 880 of 2,922 statements as unverifiable in answers captured on 22 and 23 September 2026, against vendor pages read on 8 October.
What we measured
Measured. The study examined statements about seventy vendors, the five most named in each of fourteen September Index categories. Across the statements it recorded 1,924 true, 113 wrong, five stale and 880 unverifiable. Each statement was a claim as stated by an engine, so these counts are not counts of unique product facts or affected buyers.
The Wrong About You method and data distinguish a contradiction from an unsettled claim. The vendor's own published facts supplied the comparison standard. Under the published method, if a page's robots policy disallowed automated access, the page was not read and its claims stayed unverifiable. This is an access rule, without a claim here about how often it applied.
This also matters below the total. The dental-practice-management category had 221 statements, of which 59 were unverifiable; legal-practice-management had 300 statements, of which 117 were unverifiable. Those different bases describe the recorded claims in each category. Team review of flagged statements remains in progress, and the labels do not measure a monitoring tool's accuracy.
Our answer-study method, v1.1.
What this means for you
Keep an explicit unknown state in a factual review. Forcing every statement into true or false would turn gaps in the checked material into invented certainty.
Save the exact claim and the page you checked. State what was unavailable or missing: a price, plan condition, dated product change or readable source. That makes the next review specific enough to resolve.
Use a supplier's published statement as evidence of what it says, with its date and scope. If your decision depends on a fact those pages do not establish, seek the appropriate confirmation before treating the AI answer as authoritative.

Use Free 10-question check (one engine) to locate the precise product statement you need to verify, then keep an unknown label where the source does not settle it. No email is needed; runs are limited per network and per day, and by the site's daily allowance.
If a dated primary source establishes a correction, Fix one answer, $490 can address one answer with that evidence. An unsettled claim needs evidence before a correction can be asserted.
