Which veterinary software does ChatGPT recommend?

ezyVet was named in 23 of 30 ChatGPT veterinary-software answers captured on 22 September 2026; Shepherd appeared in 19 and Digitail in 15. A new-clinic question named all three in each of its three answers. For the multi-location emergency-hospital question, ezyVet appeared in all three while Shepherd and Digitail appeared in none. Treat that change of context as a reason to read the actual answers before choosing what to evaluate.

What we measured

Measured. We summed the ChatGPT cells in the September veterinary panel: ten fixed questions and three scheduled answers per question, giving 30 valid observations. They include new clinics, small practices, larger hospitals and product comparisons. The answers were captured on 22 September 2026 and published in the 23 September release.

The ezyVet result is 76.7 percent, with a descriptive Wilson 95 percent interval from 59.1 to 88.2 percent. That uncertainty concerns the naming event under the study design, rather than how veterinarians choose systems.

The matching rules found nine of the nineteen checked vendor names at least once. Ten checked names therefore remain visible as zero rows. IDEXX is retained in the source's combined Cornerstone and Neo row; its thirteen appearances should not be silently reassigned to either product alone.

Instinct appeared in all three emergency-hospital answers, within its twelve appearances overall. Those counts measure naming. They do not demonstrate a clinical workflow, establish a product's current capabilities or record a veterinarian's endorsement.

Every figure comes from the published method, v1.1.

What this means for you

Reasoned. Describe the practice whose work you need to support. A new clinic and a hospital operating across locations give a software evaluation different questions to resolve. Use the matching context in the panel, then read each cited product claim against a current primary source.

Keep the product identity precise. If an answer refers to a supplier with several products, establish which edition or named system the claim concerns before comparing it with another tool. The grouped IDEXX row makes that caution practical: the recorded total alone cannot settle a Cornerstone-versus-Neo question.

For your internal evaluation, retain a separate checklist of supported tasks and unanswered questions. Naming frequency can tell you what appeared in this collection, but it cannot replace evidence about your hospital's requirements. An omitted name is also not evidence that the supplier lacks a required capability.

Read the practice context and the exact product names in Free 10-question check (one engine). Retain any source that needs checking before turning a name into an evaluation candidate. No email is needed; runs are limited per network and per day, and by the site's daily allowance.

For a factual error about one veterinary product, Fix one answer, $490 can address the supported page claim. Keep the product edition and evidence date in the acceptance record.

Claiming or correcting a vendor record is free and never depends on a purchase.
