Which sources do AI answers cite for transportation software?
The transportation source list includes discussion sites, software directories and supplier hosts. In answers captured on 22 September 2026, reddit.com appeared in 33 of 150, pcssoft.com in 30 and alvys.com in 29. These are pooled source appearances across five engines. Inspect the actual destination before using a citation to support a TMS claim.
What we measured
Measured. The September collection asked ten transportation-management questions three times on each of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. All 150 answers were valid. A host is counted once per answer, even when several of its URLs appear. reddit.com's 33 of 150 is 22.0 percent, with a descriptive 95 percent Wilson interval of 16.1 to 29.3 percent. Capture was 22 September 2026 and publication was 23 September.
| Selected cited host | Valid answers citing that host |
|---|---|
| alvys.com | 29 of 150 |
| brokerpro.com | 19 of 150 |
| capterra.com | 27 of 150 |
| pcssoft.com | 30 of 150 |
| reddit.com | 33 of 150 |
| ustechautomations.com | 29 of 150 |
Six selected examples appear alphabetically in the table, drawn from 197 recorded hosts; this is not the full inventory. A cited publisher and a named option can diverge: pcssoft.com appeared in 30 answers, while the checked name PCS Software appeared in five. Those figures concern different fields. Neither measures a referral, a completed software evaluation or the quality of a source.
What this means for you
Reasoned. Pick a claim that matters to the transportation operation in scope. A freight broker's selection, a ten-truck carrier's selection and a shipper moving two hundred loads a month need different evidence. Locate the relevant saved answer and follow its link rather than reading a host's category total as a universal recommendation.
At the destination, identify the product and the task described. If the answer asserts a connection or a workflow, retain the passage that names its conditions. A supplier's general homepage may identify the company while leaving that particular operation unresolved. Ask for the narrower documentation before repeating the claim in a comparison.
Treat discussion material as a source to inspect on its own terms. Record the post's date and stated situation, then separate that experience from a general assertion about the software. Do not turn repeated citations to reddit.com into a measured share of influence or an endorsement by the people using the site.
For a publisher, the useful output is a specific factual finding. Preserve the inaccurate sentence, the resolving primary source and the proposed change. After publication, read the served page to establish that the wording changed. Keep a later AI observation in a separate record; the host table did not test paid listings, site edits or their effects.

Take one TMS capability claim from Free 10-question check (one engine) and retain the linked passage with its date and product identity. No email is needed; runs are limited per network and per day, and by the site's daily allowance.
A supported correction to one public software fact can be scoped through Fix one answer, $490. Decide what the source establishes before commissioning the change.
Every figure comes from the published method, v1.1.
Claiming or correcting a vendor record is free and never depends on a purchase.
