Why is my veterinary software missing from AI answers?
The veterinary record leaves the cause of an omission unknown. ClienTrax, Onward Vet and VetlinkPRO each had zero recorded names in 149 valid answers captured on 22 September 2026; nineteen vendors were checked. Those counts can anchor an investigation of a saved answer. They cannot establish a product shortcoming or explain why an engine chose another name.
What we measured
Measured. The September Index scheduled ten veterinary-software questions with three runs on each of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. One scheduled Overview response returned no valid search result and was excluded, leaving 149 answers. Each zero below is 0.0 percent, with a descriptive 95 percent Wilson interval of 0.0 to 2.5 percent. Capture took place on 22 September 2026; publication was 23 September.

On the ezyVet-versus-Cornerstone growing-practice question, fifteen of nineteen checked vendors were never named in fifteen valid answers. The separate one-to-three-doctor-practice question had fourteen valid answers because of the excluded response; that failed observation is not a vendor absence. Across the whole valid collection, capterra.com was cited in 61 of 149 answers and digitail.com in 52. Those host counts pool all five engines and do not explain the zeros.
What this means for you
Reasoned. Locate the practice situation before interpreting the count. A new clinic, a small practice and a multi-location emergency hospital do not pose the same buying question. Retain the question nearest your situation, including its engine and date. The whole-category zero and a gap on that one question have different scopes.
Check the vendor identity in the roster and the saved answer. Broad checked labels may cover more than one product, while an unlisted system has no measured result in this table. Preserve the original label when asking a colleague to investigate. Do not convert a missing search result into evidence that a practice-management system was ignored.
Trace any product claim to a dated document for the relevant edition. For example, an assertion about moving records or connecting an existing system needs evidence for that operation and its conditions. The Index did not run a practice workflow or test a deployment. If a source does not settle the detail, mark it unresolved rather than inferring a limitation from the zero.
If you find a demonstrably inaccurate description, preserve the passage and the primary evidence before drafting a change. Make the proposed correction narrow enough to verify on the served page. If no factual conflict is established, record that the reason remains unknown; an absence does not require inventing an error to fix.
