Which sources do AI answers cite for radiology software?
Reddit, specialist publishers and supplier sites all appeared in the radiology source record. Answers captured on 22 September 2026 cited reddit.com in 60 of 150 answers, pacscribe.com in 49 and engage.klasresearch.com in 41. These pooled counts identify places to inspect; they do not establish that a source supports a particular PACS or RIS claim.
What we measured
Measured. The September Index asked ten radiology-software questions three times on each of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. All 150 answers were valid. Each exact host counts once within an answer, regardless of how many links point to it. reddit.com's 60 of 150 is 40.0 percent, with a descriptive 95 percent Wilson interval of 32.5 to 48.0 percent. Capture was 22 September 2026; publication was 23 September.
| Selected cited host | Valid answers citing that host |
|---|---|
| engage.klasresearch.com | 41 of 150 |
| intelerad.com | 40 of 150 |
| pacscribe.com | 49 of 150 |
| radiologybusiness.com | 40 of 150 |
| reddit.com | 60 of 150 |
| worldmetrics.org | 28 of 150 |
The six selected examples shown appear alphabetically within a larger inventory of 179 hosts; this is not the full inventory. Subdomains remain distinct. engage.klasresearch.com appeared in 41 answers and klasresearch.com in 20, so neither row should silently replace the other. These are source appearances, not counts of authors, visits or procurement decisions.
What this means for you
Reasoned. Start with the question your imaging team actually needs answered. A small centre looking for PACS, an outpatient team evaluating RIS and a hospital comparing imaging systems are different source-reading tasks. Open the saved answer for that decision before following a prominent host from the category total.
Match a product statement to the exact destination and passage. For a claim about an image exchange or a workflow connection, retain the product name, edition and condition stated by the source. A general article about radiology software cannot establish every detail of a named system. Record what the passage settles and leave the rest unresolved.
Distinguish a discussion from the evidence needed for your software evaluation. A reader's experience may suggest a question for a supplier, while a supplier's technical document may establish a narrower fact. Keep both with their dates and purposes. The frequency table did not assess the reliability of each passage or test an imaging deployment.
If you publish radiology-software information, identify one demonstrable mismatch before changing a page. Preserve the generated wording and the primary document that resolves it. Verify the changed page after publication; observe any later AI answer separately. A cited host is a route for checking a claim, not proof that its owner caused the wording.

Use Free 10-question check (one engine) to retain one radiology-software answer and trace a product claim to its cited passage. No email is needed; runs are limited per network and per day, and by the site's daily allowance.
