Why is my legal practice software missing from AI answers?
We cannot infer the cause of a missing legal-software name from an answer count. Aderant, ProLaw and RunSensible were never named across the 150 valid legal-practice answers captured on 22 September 2026. Those are three of the 21 checked vendors. A narrower comparison question left many more names out, so preserve the question before treating an omission as a product problem.
What we measured
Measured. The September legal-practice panel used ten buyer questions, three scheduled answers per question and five engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. All 150 observations were valid. The three rows below are the complete category-wide zero set under the published vendor-name matching rules.
For each zero-of-150 row, the descriptive Wilson 95 percent interval is 0.0 to 2.5 percent. The captures are dated 22 September 2026 and were published on 23 September. A measured zero describes those recorded answers, without demonstrating an absent feature or a faulty implementation.
| Checked vendor with no recorded names | Named in valid answers |
|---|---|
| Aderant | 0 of 150 |
| ProLaw | 0 of 150 |
| RunSensible | 0 of 150 |
The small-firm Clio-versus-MyCase comparison named Clio and 8am MyCase in all fifteen valid answers; nineteen of the twenty-one checked names were absent from that question's answers. The two products were already supplied in the question. Their appearance there cannot establish unaided discovery, and the other names' omission does not show that the answers were defective.
The pooled category source lists contained clio.com in 53 of 150 answers. That separate source-list observation does not explain the three whole-category absences above.
Every figure comes from the published method, v1.1.
What this means for you
Reasoned. Identify the setting behind the concern: a one-lawyer practice, a small team or a litigation firm replacing an existing system. Then find the closest measured question. A named comparison and an open request for possible products call for different readings of a missing name.
Check the recorded identity and aliases before entering zero in a report. A company outside the twenty-one-vendor roster is unmeasured here. Keep that condition separate from a checked vendor with no name matches. Also retain the answer date; this collection did not continue after the capture.
Choose a concrete factual statement to investigate, such as the exact edition or a described product connection. Compare it with dated product evidence. Nothing in this absence result verifies a legal practice's requirements or establishes why an engine omitted a supplier.
