Can insurance agency software integrate with ChatGPT?
AgencyZoom has a documented Zapier connection for insurance agencies, with a separate ChatGPT-compatible MCP route listed by Zapier. Our Agent Gap study reached the specified endpoint in 10 of 15 initial insurance-agency website tasks on 6 October 2026.
What we measured
Measured. The Agent Gap protocol assigned product-description, pricing-page and demo-path tasks to five insurance software vendors. Ten tasks reached their destination from that initial base of 15; repeat sessions sit outside this count. AgencyZoom was not in the measured group. The result describes public website journeys, not an authenticated insurance-system connection.
Reported. We read the AgencyZoom and ChatGPT listing on 29 October 2026. AgencyZoom's cards include Lead Created, Lead Status Change, Create a Note and Find Service Request. The separate Conversation card belongs to ChatGPT (OpenAI) and uses the Responses API. A further section names ChatGPT among compatible MCP clients.
AgencyZoom's connection guide, dated 28 January 2026, requires an API key and secret from the AgencyZoom account. It does not provide a record-level permission table for those credentials.
What this means for you
Reasoned. A lead-intake proposal can name Lead Created as its starting event and a draft as its output. Create a Note is a different operation: it writes into AgencyZoom. If you only need suggested wording for a producer to review, that note-writing action adds a change to the scope that the drafting task does not itself require.
The policy system matters too. AgencyZoom calls itself an extension to an AMS. An AgencyZoom connection therefore does not settle which policy information moves from your agency management system. Specify the lead or customer record that the note belongs to, rather than treating a policy number and a lead identifier as interchangeable.
For an unattended Zap, the AI action sends selected input to OpenAI's API. For a conversation in ChatGPT, the listing's MCP route describes actions offered to a compatible client. Put the chosen route in the brief: a working event-triggered draft would demonstrate a different setup from an assistant calling a permitted AgencyZoom action during a chat.
The guide's credential fields tell you how the provider describes authentication, but not how narrowly a particular connection is restricted. Before including client information, the agency account owner needs the permitted record scope for that route. Public lead and note cards alone do not answer who can read a customer's policy details.
