Which review sites for GEO should a buyer compare?
Compare Clutch's client accounts with G2's software-product reviews, and treat an agency's ranked list as a different kind of evidence. In our audit dated 17 September 2026, 29 of 32 agency-list rows marked Yes for the publisher appearing on its own list. Before relying on a GEO recommendation, check who published it and whether you are reading a client's experience, a product review or an editorial selection.
What we measured
Measured: our 32-list audit reads each list page once. A publisher with two pages appears twice. The public row receipt retains 29 Yes entries, two No entries and a separate Parent company listed entry in its own-list column; that last status was not converted to Yes for this count.
The six published criteria concern disclosure, selection criteria, claim sources, dates, prices and corrections. They describe what a reader could inspect on each page. Broadcastwell publishes the comparison, sells related services and is outside its scored table. This count does not measure agency quality or how representative a review is.
Reported: Clutch's verification guidance, read on 29 October 2026, says submitted reviews go through verification before publication. It also says the displayed review date is when the client started it, which can differ from completion and publication dates. Keep that distinction when checking whether an account is recent.
G2's community guidelines, read on 29 October 2026, distinguish Validated Reviewer from Current User. The first label concerns identity authentication; the second means the reviewer uploaded a screenshot of product use. Neither label states that a GEO campaign changed an AI answer.
What this means for you
Reasoned. Read a Clutch review date as the help page defines it: the day the client began the review, rather than necessarily its publication day. The verification process and that displayed date describe different events. If you need an account of recent work, read the project dates in the review instead of assigning that role to the date above it.
The two No rows in our September audit belong to AEO Vision and The AI Journal. They answer whether the publisher appeared on its own list, without establishing independence or client satisfaction. Both rows have a Partial for Links sources. A No in the self-inclusion column therefore does not establish that the page supplies strong evidence for its choices.
Nutshell has the separate Parent company listed status. It stays outside the 29 Yes count. That distinction catches a different disclosure question from matching the publisher's own name: the list can include a related company even when the publisher name itself is absent.
