How can I check ChatGPT's SEO output?

Two of thirty ChatGPT answers carried a potentially-misleading flag in our 23 October 2026 PHP2Shell study, while both retained the separate overall grade Incomplete. To check your SEO draft, isolate its factual claims and compare each with the dated primary record, rather than judging its fluency.

What we measured

Measured. Under the PHP2Shell study design, the thirty ChatGPT observations concerned technical questions for site owners, not an experiment in writing SEO copy. The flagged records were Q01-chatgpt-1 and Q05-chatgpt-1. Their overall grade and their potentially-misleading flag were separate fields, so calling them two overall Wrong answers would misstate the published review.

One flagged response described a host as fully patched where the retained source record distinguished mitigation from a patch. That is a scope error in a factual statement: polished wording cannot supply the missing distinction. The study's dated grades preserve both the answer claim and the supporting source references.

Reasoned. This example makes checking a technical draft concrete, but it cannot supply an error rate for all ChatGPT SEO output or establish whether a draft will rank.

What this means for you

Separate the claim. In a proposed hosting article, “patched” and “mitigated” should be checked against the same provider advisory and date. A reference to the correct company is insufficient if the source describes a narrower service, a different rollout stage or a different version from the sentence in the draft.

For an SEO recommendation, distinguish Google's documented requirement from the draft's proposed tactic. The AI-features guide, read on 29 October 2026, says a supporting page must be indexed and eligible for a Search snippet. A sentence that turns eligibility into guaranteed inclusion adds a claim that the cited requirement does not support.

In Q05-chatgpt-1, the dated review found that the answer described SiteGround as fully patched while its ground-truth record classified the status as mitigation only. The GoDaddy comparison also distinguished managed WordPress from other hosting services. Those are the specific scopes behind the 23 October judgment. An article that compresses the retained service-level distinctions into one host-wide “patched” label would lose the information needed to check its claim.
