Does Profound provide a full SEO audit or a partial audit?

An AI visibility score is not a full technical SEO audit. Profound's documented Answer Engine Insights and FactCheck cover answer presence, citations and brand-claim checks, so those are the parts of the audit question supported by the sources read on 29 October 2026. Our PHP2Shell study, captured on 23 October 2026, flagged 23 of 148 eligible answers as potentially misleading, a defined answer-review task to compare with those documented features.

What we measured

Measured. The PHP2Shell Answer Study method used ten fixed site-owner questions across five engines, with three runs per question. Its 150 planned cells included two excluded Google AI Overviews returns, leaving 148 eligible answers. The 23 potentially-misleading flags are separate from the overall answer grades; all published grades received team approval unchanged. These figures do not measure Profound's performance or establish its full technical SEO coverage.

Reported. Profound's Answer Engine Insights documentation, read on 29 October 2026, describes daily prompts, brand presence, citations, sentiment, share of voice and charts. Its FactCheck documentation, read that day, describes extracting verifiable brand assertions and checking them against the customer's Knowledge Base, with source attribution and remediation options.

What this means for you

Reasoned. If your proposal says “Profound audit”, identify which documented output it means. AEI's Visibility score divides brand-present responses by responses containing at least one brand. Brandless answers fall outside that denominator. The same guide defines Share of Voice against total brand mentions, so even two charts in that feature can answer different measurement questions.

For the Broadcastwell comparison, our PHP2Shell record contains captured advice, a question-and-run identifier, a grading reason and dated ground-truth references. That is the evidence behind our flag count. Profound's FactCheck description instead centers on assertions checked against a Knowledge Base supplied by the customer. A comparison should retain those different reference sets rather than treating every accuracy label as the same audit.

The FactCheck page says its Knowledge Base can be built by crawling a domain, uploading files or syncing Google Drive and Notion. That crawl supplies the brand facts used for verification. For a proposed technical SEO audit, require the separate deliverable that covers your URL indexing, canonical and redirect checks; the documented Knowledge Base ingestion step alone does not settle that scope.

If a retained answer contains one incorrect company fact, Fix one answer, $490. A technical site audit needs its own agreed scope.
