What can an agency deliver when a client asks for GEO?
One of seventy initial company-description tasks was labeled incorrect in our Agent Gap study, captured on 6 October 2026. An agency can turn a broad request for GEO into a defined evidence brief: the client’s exact question, retained answer, disputed company fact, dated reference and a specific proposed change, with later observations reported separately.
What we measured
Measured. The released Describe-task method and results distinguish correctness from finding and reaching a public endpoint. Sixty-nine initial descriptions were classified correct and one incorrect. The incorrect AppFolio record still marks its endpoint found and reached; a completed browsing task therefore is not the same deliverable as a correct company description.
Reported. Google’s site-owner guidance for AI features, read on 29 October 2026, retains ordinary Search eligibility requirements and makes no guarantee of crawling, indexing or serving. It does not supply a purchasable Overview placement or an assured answer position.
Reasoned. The task distinction helps define what an agency can document and deliver. It cannot establish that a proposed client edit will change an engine’s answer or bring a buyer.
What this means for you
Name the accepted work. For a company-description error like the AppFolio task classification, a brief needs the assertion being challenged and the reference that contradicts it. The public task record gives the classification and endpoint fields; it is not a ready-made correction document containing a quoted disputed claim. Do not manufacture that missing quotation to fill a client report.
Our own Answer Repair entry has a defined scope in the 26 October 2026 terms: one buyer question and one source-backed page or fix, due forty-eight elapsed hours after recorded Ready. That defines a particular delivery boundary an agency can put beside its client’s requested question. It does not convert the agreed work into a promised answer position.
Question scope also changes the report. The Index’s 140 buyer questions cover fourteen software categories; they are not one client’s automatically approved prompt set. A client asking about its own description needs that description question written into the brief, rather than a software-shortlist chart relabeled as the client’s result.
For agency purchasing, our agency guide is a publisher-produced comparison, and Broadcastwell is not scored in it.
