What does the business record establish?
If you need to count an enquiry, use the business record for that defined event, with its date and status. An assistant describing a CRM is a different source: our 22 September 2026 buyer-language study coded a system-of-record requirement in 1 of 150 CRM answers. That observation records words in an answer, without establishing any company’s enquiry or sale.
What we measured
Measured. The study-specific record rules code criteria in the retained CRM answer panel. Ten questions, three repeats and five engines supply 150 included answers. One contains the coded system-of-record criterion. Its unit is an answer containing a requirement, rather than a populated CRM record. The published review status is “Team review: in progress”.
Reported. The AI Source Standard’s business-record section separates a defined event from the buyer’s account of discovery. It calls for the reporting window, the event definition and who applied it. HubSpot’s documented ChatGPT connection describes reading and, under the available access controls, working with records in the connected HubSpot account.
Reasoned. A language answer saying a CRM should preserve customer information is evidence of a stated buying criterion. It cannot establish an opportunity value, an accepted quote or a completed payment.
What this means for you
Read the status that the actual business system stores. A contact is not necessarily an enquiry, and a newly created deal is not necessarily a qualified opportunity. Use the definition agreed for the report rather than converting every populated row into the most valuable label.
Check the record. For a ChatGPT-assisted HubSpot task, distinguish what the assistant proposed from what the account recorded. HubSpot’s help describes links back to created records. That link gives you somewhere to verify the object and its fields; the assistant’s prose alone does not show that the account contains the intended event.
