Is Perplexity good for SEO?

Use Perplexity to locate and inspect sources for SEO research, rather than treating it as evidence of a ranking improvement. Our 22 September 2026 CRM Index recorded Salesforce-domain citations in 3 of 30 Perplexity answers. All three point to the same Salesforce small-business CRM article, making the underlying page inspectable rather than supplying three independent references.

What we measured

Measured. The original CRM release contains ten buyer questions and three Perplexity returns per question. The Salesforce-domain citations occur in all three returns for the small-sales-team scaling question. We count each answer once when its recorded URLs include that domain. This citation observation did not measure organic rankings or referrals.

Reported. The Pro Search help page was last modified on 26 October 2026 and read on 29 October. It describes multiple web searches, linked original sources and follow-up questions that retain conversation context. It also explicitly tells readers to validate information against the linked sources. The saved instructions say Pro Search is used automatically in Search when included in the reader's plan, up to that plan's limit; there is no separate toggle in those instructions.

Reasoned. These documented functions support finding and questioning source material. The repeated Salesforce URL provides a concrete case where several returned answers still resolve to one underlying article.

What this means for you

For a comparison article about a small sales team, follow that Salesforce link before borrowing a feature statement from the answer. It is a supplier's article, with that publisher's perspective. The retained question asks about a team that is scaling; the page's usefulness for a different buying situation cannot be established by its appearance in that row.

Count the source once. Three runs pointing to the same article may be useful for studying repeat selection, but they do not give your draft three independent confirmations of a product fact. The question-level record preserves the context and the returned URLs, so a writer can distinguish repeated selection from a wider set of references.
