What does Peec measure?

On 22 September 2026, our CRM panel named Close in twelve of 150 answers. Peec describes AI-search analytics through visibility, position and sentiment; its public visibility definition concerns the share of chats mentioning a brand. The Close count gives you a concrete naming example to distinguish from source citations, without representing a Peec product result.

What we measured

Reported. Peec’s official product page, read on 30 October 2026 UTC, identifies Visibility as the share of chats mentioning a brand. It separately describes Position within AI-search results and Sentiment about how a brand is perceived. The page also identifies prompt organization, tracked brands and source discovery as product functions.

Measured. The September Index release records Close’s twelve named answers across ten CRM questions, three repeats and five engines. Its vendor citation measure is four of 150: the published method requires the vendor to be named and its own domain to be cited. That is different from counting every stored URL containing close.com.

Reasoned. These definitions identify different observations a report can contain. The Index capture cannot establish Peec’s accuracy, its current account entitlements or a change in a buyer’s behavior.

What this means for you

Keep the engine visible. Close’s naming total combines three ChatGPT answers, six Claude answers and one answer on each of Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Each engine contributes thirty valid CRM answers. The pooled twelve therefore should not become a twelve-out-of-thirty figure when you select one engine for a report.

Read the checked name too. The released Close record binds close.com to the aliases Close CRM and Close.io, and marks Close as a plain-word name. That distinction matters when you inspect a sentence: a reference to the software company is different from the ordinary verb in an instruction to close a window. The Index’s retained identity rule concerns the company named by the question set.

The same vendor record says Close appeared on five distinct buyer questions. Those five questions and the twelve named answers are compatible because questions were repeated across engines.
