How should a report present these outcomes?

The AI Source Standard calls for separate answer, visit, buyer-report and commercial-event measures. Our 22 September 2026 Index supplies one such row: among thirty CRM returns from Google AI Mode, three cite a HubSpot-domain URL. A report can place that count beside separately evidenced outcomes, with each row retaining its own date, definition and source.

What we measured

Measured. Ten CRM buyer questions, repeated three times on Mode, provide the thirty-answer base. The HubSpot-domain citations occur for a B2B sales team, a spreadsheet replacement and a forecasting comparison. The forecasting answer retains two HubSpot-owned URLs while counting once. This dataset contains answer observations, without buyer self-reports or commercial-event records for those observations.

Reported. The AI Source Standard's reporting definitions distinguish company naming, recommendations, cited sources, referral visits, buyer self-reports and qualified opportunities. The published page says each measure needs its own numerator, base, period and evidence, and missing information stays missing.

Reasoned. The three citing answers can populate a source-observation row. A visit or opportunity row needs its separate underlying record, rather than a value calculated from those three answers.

What this means for you

Give the citation row its real base. Here it is thirty returned answers to ten CRM questions, rather than thirty visitors or thirty buyers. Its date is the answer-capture date. Beside it, a buyer's discovery account would carry the date of that account and the source question they answered. Keeping those fields visible prevents an ordinary table heading such as results from making two different observations appear interchangeable.

The two URLs in the forecasting return illustrate another presentation decision. A URL list can be shown as supporting detail while the headline citation numerator still counts that answer once. If the appendix instead counts URLs, its label and denominator need to say so. The original record lets the reader see both links without inflating the three-answer result.
