What should I learn for technical SEO, AEO and GEO?
Learn to inspect a public page, verify what its sources support and report an answer without changing its meaning. Our 22 September 2026 The AI written RFP study method (request for proposal) found customer-data-protection criteria in 12 of 150 CRM (customer relationship management) answers. A useful learning exercise is to follow one such criterion from the saved answer to a supplier’s public security evidence.
Observed answers on stated dates, not a ranking.
SEO means search engine optimization. GEO (generative engine optimization) is also called AEO (answer engine optimization) or AI search visibility by buyers.
What we measured
Measured. Study 7 retained the passages behind extracted purchase criteria. The CRM study records place twelve answers in the customer-data-protection criterion. The count describes what those saved answers stated; it does not certify twelve vendors or assess a learner’s competence. Team review: in progress.
One ChatGPT answer captured on 22 September 2026 addresses information technology (IT) and security review:
Review access controls, single sign-on, auditability, encryption, and data-location requirements with your IT/security team.
The published method keeps answer criteria separate from a vendor’s stated, unstated or unknown public-page evidence. That separation is useful when learning to review a claim without filling gaps from general product knowledge.
Reported. Google’s guidance for AI features, read on 30 October 2026, retains crawlability, visible useful content and normal search eligibility. Those are page requirements, not a promise of citation after completing a course. HubSpot's connector guide, read on 29 October 2026, separately documents administrator and sensitive-data conditions.
Reasoned. Build a small portfolio of inspectable work: a page-access review, a sourced correction and a dated answer report. The three deliverables test different responsibilities. A certificate can show completion of its issuer’s course; the actual work shows how the learner handles a missing or conflicting source.
What this means for you
Start with the first ChatGPT return for the CRM evaluation question. Its retained security passage asks about access controls, single sign-on, auditability, encryption and data location, then separates protections the supplier provides from settings the customer's team configures. A proposed source-reading exercise can preserve those two responsibilities rather than reducing the passage to a yes-or-no compliant label.
Read the exclusion. A separate concrete practice source is HubSpot's connector guide, retained on 29 October. Its FAQ excludes custom Sensitive Data Properties and specified sensitive content from the connector. Its permissions section separately describes administrator approval and selection of accessible data. Those are named documented conditions to extract, not a certification or a finding that the CRM security criterion has been satisfied.
For the technical part, Google's AI guide names indexing and snippet eligibility as supporting-link conditions. A learner can therefore distinguish access to the public HubSpot guide from permission to read a customer's records through the connector. The first is a page-eligibility question; the second depends on the guide's administrator and sensitive-data conditions, including its explicit exclusion of engagement data when Sensitive Data is enabled.
