Is loan origination software with ChatGPT free?

ChatGPT Free can research public loan-software information; that does not make a LendingPad automation free. Our Agent Gap study reached 0 of 5 loan-origination pricing destinations on 6 October 2026. That public-source finding makes the terms question concrete: reading about software and acquiring a connected loan operation require different evidence.

Observed answers on stated dates, not a ranking.

What we measured

Measured. The Agent Gap task method and records cover initial pricing-page searches for nCino, MeridianLink, ICE Mortgage Technology, Abrigo and Baker Hill. None reached the intended destination. The separate correctness field is true for each of those five tasks; it must not be substituted for the reached field. The collection did not buy software or execute a loan workflow. Our original September Index supplies every checked loan-vendor naming count below, with thirty valid returns per engine captured on 22 September 2026.

The retained community-bank answer, captured from ChatGPT on 22 September 2026, says the comparisons are “not independent head-to-head testing or verified pricing”. That limitation belongs beside the naming table: an observed comparison does not certify product prices or a free connected system.

Reported. OpenAI's Free-plan frequently asked questions (FAQ), saved on 30 October 2026, describes public web research within feature limits. LendingPad's Zapier FAQ, read on 29 October 2026, is dated 26 June 2023 and describes a restricted test of the connection. It explicitly requires a paid Zapier account for that process.

Reasoned. The study's zero count concerns public pricing destinations, while the dated LendingPad requirement names a particular connection's condition. Neither establishes a current free loan-origination stack.

What this means for you

Read the dated access conditions. LendingPad's payment statement belongs to the 2023 process described in its FAQ, rather than a new licensing check made in 2026. Its separate app listing, read on 29 October 2026, names Loan Updated and Create New Lead / Loan. A web-search conversation about a lender's options does not, just by using ChatGPT, acquire either account operation.

The FAQ also requires matching login emails and gives each integration key the permissions of its user. A loan file outside that user's access will not sync. That rule matters if your proposed use involves an existing application: the published permission boundary follows the user and file, rather than the ability to read a public vendor page.

LendingPad provides the Zapier apps as is and excludes them from its support. It also directs readers of that dated process to Zapier's audit log when transfer allowances are exceeded.
