Which CRM software should a buyer compare?

If you are comparing CRM (customer relationship management) software for a growing sales team, begin with the sales situation before making one best-product list. Our study, The AI written RFP (request for proposal), counted 36 answers with a fit requirement across the 150-answer CRM sample dated 22 September 2026. The checked suppliers below are candidates named in that collection, rather than products we ranked for your company.

Observed answers on stated dates, not a ranking.

What we measured

Measured. In The AI written RFP's coding method, a fit requirement has to appear before the answer's first vendor name. Its CRM count is 36 of 150 included answers, with a 95% interval of 17.9% to 31.4%. Those records span the growing-team, complex-pipeline, alternative, spreadsheet-replacement, multiple-sales-motion and evaluation questions. Team review: in progress. This collection cannot determine which supplier will perform best in your operation.

One Claude answer captured on 22 September 2026 includes this wording:

how big your team is, how you actually sell, and how much you want AI to do on its own.

The original Index release records ten checked CRM vendors, each with thirty valid returns per engine dated 22 September. The full alphabetical matrix keeps every zero.

Vendor ChatGPT (base 30) Claude (base 30) Perplexity (base 30) Google AI Overviews (base 30) Google AI Mode (base 30)

Reasoned. A fit passage identifies the buying conditions in the answer. A supplier's row then identifies naming in the five panels; it is not a feature demonstration or a current quote.

What this means for you

Choose the question first. The growing B2B-team record (business-to-business) is different from the complex-pipeline question and the question about replacing spreadsheets. The retained fit passages discuss team size, sales motion and technical resources. Those conditions explain why the panel contains several buying situations instead of one undifferentiated CRM choice.

The Mode returns for a growing team make the sales-motion distinction explicit: high-volume outbound work is not the same situation as complex inbound or marketing-led work. Another retained passage asks whether the team needs an all-in-one marketing-and-sales product or a focused sales tool. These are conditions stated in the answers, not findings that any named vendor delivers those conditions in an installed account.

Keep the alternative question in view. It asks about alternatives to a traditional CRM, so a name can enter this collection while an answer is discussing a different approach to customer records. That is a different context from the evaluation question, where the answer lists buying requirements before recommending names.
